Role Description

The Control Senior Manager (Corporate Title – Vice President), as part of the Chief Control Executive organization, will lead a team of quality assurance professionals responsible for reviewing RCSAs. As a senior leader in the control team, the Senior Manager will also be expected to assess the current environment and identify opportunities to improve the overall RCSA process in consultation with senior stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior Manager (VP) will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of quality assurance professionals as they conduct reviews of RCSAs submitted by global BGs / EFs. The Senior Manager will be responsible for distributing work to the QO team, driving accountability for timely QA completion, and supporting the QA assessors in providing QA results to the BGs / EFs.
  • Providing regular reporting to Chief Control Executive organization leaders on the results of RCSA assessments, including trending analysis.
  • Identifying and escalating opportunities to enhance RCSA procedures and / or developing / updating learning content based on QA trends.
  • Creating a culture of excellence by proactively developing a team of talented and diverse risk professionals to support the execution of the RCSA program.
  • Identifying other QA opportunities and enhancing team capabilities to deliver on increased Assurance activities.
  • Mentoring / guiding team members and overseeing the completion of all RCSA activities and documentation from a governance perspective.
  • Developing and articulating sound proposals to key stakeholders, and influencing and driving timely decision making.
  • Interfacing internally with the team, corporate, line of business, and risk partners.

Required Experience

  • Overall 18+ years of professional experience with 10 years in quality assurance / risk management or large scale implementation leadership, ideally in the financial services industry.
  • Hands on quality assurance expertise will be an advantage.
  • Familiar with various quality assurance techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive improvements.
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork.
  • Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives.
  • An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas / issues into well-defined plans / solutions with a track-record for delivering results.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality output from self and team.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Master’s degree  / relevant certifications will be an advantage.
  • Experience in automation / advanced excel / reporting will be an advantage.
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practices around quality assurance, control evaluations / testing, internal audit and risk management processes.
